I’m NILLA

Some time ago, in a small town nestled in the picturesque region of Puglia, in Italy, I was just a little girl with big dreams. My name is Antonella, but a lot of people call me Nilla. From an early age, I was deeply fascinated with transforming spaces and making them more beautiful. I vividly remember visiting my friends’ houses, and as I returned home, I would spend hours drawing and imagining how I could decorate each space with my touch of creativity.

As life unfolded, I pursued my studies in business and embarked on a successful career in international companies. I was very satisfied for many reasons. However, love stories often left me disheartened. It was then that I realized how labels, both self-imposed and imposed by society, played a significant role in relationships. Most of the labels, filled with judgments and stereotypes, hindered the ability to express authentically and limited the freedom to truly connect with one another.

Following the end of a particularly tricky chapter in my life, I made a life-altering decision. I chose to focus on self-discovery, self-awareness, and self-acceptance. It was during this transformative period that I stumbled upon a few revelations.

Firstly, I discovered that children possess an innate wisdom that we, as adults, often overlook. Their dreams and desires are pure and uncontaminated by societal expectations. Secondly, I realized that dreams have the power to manifest themselves into reality when fueled by unwavering belief and determination.

Inspired by these newfound insights, I decided to channel my passion for self-awareness and beauty into an art project that could challenge the limitations of labels. Thus, the project “MAKE LABELS A WORK OF ART”  was born.

Today, I firmly believe that life should be as simple and fun as possible and that art has the power to transform not only physical spaces but also hearts and minds.
